I just got back from spending a week in the UK and I can tell you I will never return there to live. That Labour Government has been in power for far too long. It is brain dead, out of ideas and just crazy. How you Brits put up with it is beyond me?

The first thing I notice is the large 'Welcome to a smoke free Britain' signs as you leave Heathrow and walk straight into clouds of cigarette smoke as you leave the building. No body obeys the no smoking signs and the designated smoking areas sit unused as everyone puffs on their cigs just outside the main door. Stupid law anyway.

The thing about Labour seems to be that every problem, every issue, has to be addressed through legislation. To me this constant stream of legislation is eroding personal freedom in the UK and making it almost a police state. It's unrecognizable as the country I left 16-years ago. The health service is now a joke (you go to hospital well and come out in a coffin), everything that moves is now taxed. They are even revising property taxes based on amenities like a parking space or a decent view. Hell - who decides what constitutes a decent view? And why would I pay more taxes to have one? Is this Labour's precursor to re-introducing the window tax of the middle ages? (The window tax was a tax on windows and is why some old buildings in the UK have bricked up windows!).

I'm not joking. Labour seem to believe that every problem has to be solved with a new law and (rubbing their hands in glee at the thought) - a new TAX.

Its time to reverse this trend and kick out a Government that long ago lost direction, will and ideas. Problem though is that the opposition parties aren't much better....

Finally, Margaret Thatcher must be squirming every time she visits an airport. All those security staff being paid for by all those new taxes and one in ten of them are actually working while the other nine stand around gossiping or are standing out front of the building smoking.... Meanwhile, the lines of people trying to clear security seem to go on forever... unbelievable beaurocracy and jobs for the boys (and girls)....
