An End to the Silly Season
And so Christmas and New Year are over once again and I can hear a collective sigh of relief. For once, I went to bed early on New Year's Eve only to be woken by what sounded like the outbreak of WWIII at midnight. And for once I had a New Year's Day because usually that first day of the year disappears in the pain and malaise of a hangover.
The only thing I can say about the holiday season is that it seems to start earlier every year - though not, thank God, as early as an American Presidential election which these days starts before the new President has even been installed. The Americans must by now be heartily sick of the Presidential race and very pleased that it will finish this year for a momentary pause anyway. I'm sure the rest of us will be heartily relieved that someone else occupies the Whitehouse.
And so here we are a new year, full of aspirations and hope. I wonder how long that lasts - that euphoria of a new year? Will it last 'til February like all of those that suddenly rush to the Gyms hoping to turn over a new fitness leaf?
For me, I want to see how much I can grow this website so stay posted for some new campaigns designed to get YOU to participate.
Happy New Year!
