I read this morning that our friend in Cuba - Fidel Castro - has said through Cuban TV that he won't cling to power.... excuse me while I break for a laugh.......................................................... OK, back. Is he kidding? Isn't he a tin pot dictator and hasn't he clung to power for way longer than he should already? I mean Cuba is a country people die to escape from. I wonder why? Could it be that his regime is one that has sucked the life blood out of the country and is now living on frozen plasma imported from China?
I think folks that this is certainly a sign that in older age, Castro is becoming a kinder, gentler person. Yes, he is probably now seeing his own mortality and having dreams of his people joyfully pulling down his statues and defacing his image all across Cuba. I guess he is sat there watching reruns on TV of Sadam's statue being beaten with shoes and dragged through the streets so that people can spit and urinate on it. It must make his blood run cold to know that very very soon his legacy will be dead and buried as the people of Cuba try to catch up with the rest of the world after god knows how many years of living like paupers in a perpetual 1960's.
Castro - You clung to power for far too long already mate.
