OK, I promise this will be my last 'Hull City' post for a while. But, I can't help wanting to rant a bit about the media and Hull City. Hull were promoted to the Premier League just last Saturday and within minutes, all sorts of media folks were predicting that Hull City will be relegated back to the Championship after a single year. They (rightly) point to the gap between the two leagues and how fewer than 50% of promoted teams last more than 1 year.... but my god, can we celebrate just a day or two before you start wringing your hands and spelling out disaster and doom?

Hilary Clinton now claims the popular vote and has told us that votes don't count until cast - which means she is going all of the way to the Democratic convention in the hope that Sen. Obama makes some blunder between now and then. But hang on. Who would elect a woman who seemingly can't count? And who makes up and changes the rules as she goes? This woman has an ego the size of Everest and believes it is SHE who is important (and her alone) in this election.

Come on Hilary - we know that you love Nazi created PR tactics (If you say something loud enough and often enough people believe it) but we too can count.... and Obama leads in the popular vote....

I lived in the US for around 18-years. I enjoyed it immensely and in the process became a US citizen without losing my UK citizenship. It made sense, I was living there, working there, building pension there and I wanted a vote there too. US citizenship is something some people would kill for of that there can be no doubt and it does offer some nice advantages especially when combined with an EU passport. I mean I can walk into the US or any EU country with relatively no hassle and start working there without anyone's permission. Not bad.

A Japanese man who lived alone became suspicious when food kept disappearing from his fridge. So he installed a video camera and discovered a strange woman walking around his apartment when he left it. He called the police who searched the apartment and discovered a 58-year old woman living in his closet! She had apparently been living there for over a year unnoticed.

Many many years ago, our school had a competition where you had to perform a five minute skit. My pal and I entered with a something called "Now that is the Question". It revolved around a conversation between Dr. Who, Dr. What and Dr. That". It was quite childish since the conversation was All around "How is That", "No, I am not, That is That" etc.... but it had the watching teachers in stitches and we won the competition.

Apparently, a new swimsuit developed by British manufacturer SPEEDO is taking credit for helping break world swimming records. 30 World swimming records have been broken recently by swimmers wearing the LZR Racer swimsuit which sucks the muscles into the perfect shape to swim and is both lighter than others and repels water to reduce drag.This has got national swim teams like that of Japan worried since they don't have a contract with Speedo in advance of the Olympics.

Recently, I had occasion to try to visit Czech officialdom regarding the formation of a company. All I needed was to obtain a document from the local authority - easy right?

Well no, not here.

I went as directed to the government office where I was informed I was at the wrong office. They directed m to another office across town. On arrival there, I was told yet again that I was in the wrong place an directed to another office. There, yes - you guessed, I was told I was in the wrong office and sent back to the place I first started. At the original office I was told yes - this is the correct place!

I will begin this tirade with the statement - I am not Jewish. I am not anything but me. I believe that organized religion is a way to shackle people to a set of thought patterns and keep them controlled. I also think that religion has been hijacked by politicians and those with an axe to grind.

So to my point.

A nice summer cold is going through my house and I caught it. It's a real buggerhoo too. Eyes watering, coughing, sneezing but absolutely tired out even lifting a finger.... I wish someone would come up with a cure for the cold. I'm dropping vitamin C and Zinc but it doesn't seem to be helping....

Oh well. I am miserable....

Villagers in Romania have elected a dead man as their Mayor according to a BBC article. But for me, thats not the funny part of the story. The funniest bit is the quote from one of the villagers who had voted to re-elect the Mayor despite the fact that he had recently died. He said "I know he died, but I don't want change". I can't think of any bigger change than dying can you?

A sixth severed foot was found on a beach in British Columbia, Canada recently leading to further puzzlement over where these feet are coming from. It was the second severed foot found on a beach within days. Pretty damn weird - feet beach pollution!

One theory is that these feet might be coming from a plane wreck - a plane crashed in the area several years ago and many of the bodies have never been recovered...but why would just the feet show up?

Anyway, it can't be doing much for tourism there....

I guess the success of TV programs where a host of young girls compete for the attentions of a millionaire has spilled over into the on line dating game. Yes folks - now you can find your millionaire mate on line!

I'm sorry but this is ludicrous. Why would a millionaire need an on line dating system membership to meet women or men? Surely, greedy people throw themselves at millionaires every day right? Well, maybe not.... But if money is what you are after - take my advice - make your own.

Well, the strangeness around the severed feet washing up on beaches in British Columbia, Canada get's even weirder today as it is announced that the latest foot is a hoax. DNA testing suggests the severed foot is actually a skeletonized animal paw shoved into an Adidas shoe. We await news on the other severed foor found nearby recently.

Teen pregnancy s a serious issue and not one I would usually see fit to comment on here in a funny manner but this headline truly caught my eye. Yes, 17 teenage girls all became pregnant at a High School in the Boston area causing a statistical teen pregnancy spike off the scale. School officials became concerned when girls kept on requesting pregnancy tests at the school and were plainly disappointed when the results were negative but delighted when the results were positive.

It seems that the girls had made a pact to get pregnant and raise their children together. Apparently, so desperate to get pregnant the girls were having sex with anything that moved including homeless men in the area - one of whom is now a proud Dad.

Once upon a time trade shows of almost any kind were littered with semi-naked women draped seductively over cars, trucks, bikes or whatever it was that was being sold. Yes - Sex sells and the Booth Babe dominated at trade shows. These days or some reason the Booth Babes appear to have gone away. More and more trade shows now ban the Booth Babe and trade shows are arguably more boring for it.

A quick trip to Switzerland early this week turned into the trip to hell. I was recovering from a nasty flu bug already but on my second evening in Switzerland the sweet and sour chicken turned out to be more sour than sweet. I awoke at 1:30am and promptly threw up and kept on throwing up until, the sweet and sour made it far enough through for my insides to recoil in horror and make sitting in the toilet as opposed to looking in it, a necessity. What a night!

Finally, I go to sleep around the time to get up and had to go to visit a client to work. I still felt terrible and was afraid I would monopolize their bathroom. However, I avoided food and all seemed to turn out reasonably well.

I've been posting to this blog now for around 6-months. Traffic has built up over that time and I must have made 200 posts already. I had assumed that a site that looked at the news and life in a sarcastic and humorous manner would attract a variety of people - perhaps mostly student age. Was I wrong!
