This morning I feel like ranting so I am going to. Am I the only one who thinks that the Israeli Government and Hamas both act like spoilt kids seeking attention? I would be laughable except that innocent people are dying and suffering. I would frankly lynch the leaders of Israel and Hamas both. They are both a bunch of terrorist thugs trying to manipulate world opinion at the expense of their own people.

Israel to me is an illegitimate State set up to house Russian and Eastern block Jews in an era when the USA could make hay with the Soviet Union by pointing to discrimination and persecution of Jews. It's a bully in it's neighborhood and has long since overstepped the mark of proper decency. It has no respect for international law. Sure, it has a right to defend itself but it also needs to respect international opinion and laws. I find it sinister that the latest bullying by Israel was planned to take place at Christmas when it knew the western world would be holidaying and partying and incapable of fielding a proper reaction.

Hamas. Well, what can you say about them? Terrorists who I have to say really brought this upon themselves by lobbing rockets at Israel - sort of like going up to a large Grisly Bear and sticking pins in its nose. Sooner or later that Grisly is gonna knock your head off. Hamas uses it's own people's suffering in a most sinister fashion.

What beats me is the way both sides talk. Israelis talk in a way that the western world can understand. Restrained, calmly and in 'normal' language. Hamas and to be honest Arabs in general suffer from the richness of their own Arabic language which is graphic and picturesque in its use of adjectives. And so we hear statements like 'Mother of all battles', 'we will annihilate the Jewish State' and so on. Sort of over the top statements that might work in Arabic but in English tend to sound like a 12-year old in the school playing field. It's not their fault I know but it doesn't help garner world sympathy either.

And through all of this, normal people suffer. Palestinians suffer. Israelis suffer. Why?

Even worse. Israels actions drive young frustrated Muslims in to the arms of terrorist groups. So it continues to be a vicious circle.

It is time for the World to stand up - not take sides. There is no longer any right or wrong side in this stupidity. They are all wrong. We need to stand up and knock their bloody heads together like you would 12-year olds fighting on the school playing field. We should demand they are locked in a room and not allowed to leave until they come out understanding one another and resolve to talk through issues peacefully. As the UK figured out finally with it's 'Irish problem' - that is the only way to solve these kinds of issues no matter how much bloodshed and history there might be.

And that is where we need leadership in the USA. Not GWB's support of Israel no matter what and not Obama's silence. We need leadership, resolve and commitment. NOW!

Finally, I'm not expecting much from Obama. I have a rather sinister view that since he was allowed to be elected by the real powers in America, that they already have him in their back pocket. We will see.
