According to the BBC, the proposed .xxx for porn domain name has been delayed while the US Government takes a closer look at the implications. I got to admit, I'm a bit lost by all of this. I mean the Internet is dominated by porn and porn searchers so why not give it its own 'box' and make it go there? That way, the rest of what's left of the Internet can be put to better use not to mention that parents would be able to finally filter out porn sites when their kids use the Internet (always assuming the porn industry complied and moved to the .xxx domain name).

It makes so much sense to me to move forward with such an idea.. I mean there are just so many benefits to have a .xxx domain name and to force porn there. So, I'm just wondering who it is that could possibly object? Objecting to porn on the Internet is like peeing in the wind these days so why not move it where you can see it and control it?

Could it be that the US Government is bought on this issue and that there is some group out there spending money on convincing politicians to block this? Even worse, why the hell are politicians involved in this at all?
